We are sad to announce that on April 30, 2023, at the age of 91, Lula Mae Ashley of Grady, Arkansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Neal Lewis and Willie S. Lewis (Scott); her husband Edward Ashley, Jr.; her siblings, Louella Jones, Illcy Holmes, Ladd of Tennessee, Jesse Lee Gates and Credale Lewis; her children, Leotis Lewis, Fredrick Ashley, Sr., Charles Ashley, Sr. and Velvet Joe Shavers; her grandchildren, Tracy Lewis, Adrain Ashley and Tiffani Shavers; and her great grandchildren, Antonio Robinson, Jr. and Yasmine Ashley.
She is survived by: her children, Damascus Missionary Baptist Church, Willie Lewis (Connie) of Pine Bluff, LaVelle Ashley (Brenda) of Crossett, LeWesley (Lena), Marilyn Taggart (Larry) of Grady, Rubie Parks (Rodney) of Milwaukee and Evelyn Akins (Clevester) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; her siblings, Thomas Lewis of Grady, J. T. Lewis of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Helen West (Earl) of Grady and Clara Lewis of Spokane, Washington; her aunt Ruby Hatcher of San Diego, California; and her daughter-in-law Paula Ashley of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She is also survived by 35 grand-children; 110 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
