Betty Jean (Goff) Tillman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Tillman of Gould, Arkansas, who passed away on February 12, 2021 at the age of 70.
Betty Jean (Goff) Tillman was born September 7, 1950 to Bernice Hewing and Isom Goff Jr. in Pickens, AR. Betty departed this life on February 12, 2021. Betty loved the Lord and she received Christ at an early age at Bethlehem Church in Pickens, AR. As an adult, she became a member of the Rankin Chapel MBC church where she remained a member and church secretary until her passing.
Betty, affectionately known as Jean to many, was a loving wife, caring mother, faithful christian, and shining light. You could be sure to find her with a smile on her face and friendly conversation. She loved working with children and served as a foster grandparent with the Dumas School District. Betty believed in "knowing who your people are" and would often introduce herself to unfamiliar faces by asking who they were related to. Her love for family heritage shown in how she encouraged her children to know their relatives and through her interactions with family. She enjoyed trips to Dollar Tree, church, yard sales, and eating out; most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her son-Tracy Tillman, mother-Bernice Hewing, father- Isom Goff Jr, grandmothers- Viola Vivian and Roseanna, grandfathers- Isom Goff Sr and Monroe Hewing, sisters-Tina Goff, Essie Kennedy, Thelma Page, Bobbie Benton, and brother John Goff Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Fred L. Tillman of Gould AR, her daughters Roslyn Tillman of Bryant AR, Demertrice Okafor (Anthony) of Mount Pleasant TX, and Rachel Tillman-Antwine (Derrick) of Pine Bluff AR, sisters Easleana Cotton of Pine Bluff AR and Rosetta Hilson (Sammie) of Milwaukee WI, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
