He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen Cottrell and Margie Cottrell; his former wife Elaine; his sons, Johnny Lynn Cottrell, Keith Wayne Cottrell and Murvel Lee Cottrell; and his siblings, Dow, Bailey, Charles Cottrell, Sandy Nabors and Lois Bollinger.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Tammy (Aaron Burnett), Tharold (Gretchen Cottrell), Tony (Heather Cottrell) and Diana Taylor (Joey) of Seymour, Missouri; and his sisters, Retha Nelson, Alta Ward, Danna Thompson, Cathy Santos, Alice Cottrell and Rachel Willis. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
