He was predeceased by: his parents, David Day and Rosa Lee Barefield Day; his former wife Lydia Dell Wade Day; and his grandchildren, Bridgette Day and Heaven Leigh Day.

He is survived by: his wife Etta Mae Brown Day; and his children, Randy Day (Teresa) of Garfield, Michael Day (Carolyn) of Waxahachie, Texas. and Lisa Day of Victorville. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
