He was predeceased by: his parents, Larkin Smith and Bonnie McCrary Smith; and his siblings, Ernest, Carl, Joe, Calvin, Glen, Clayton, Bonnie Smith Eyre and Emily Smith Conaster.
He is survived by: his son Ernest Lee Smith (Danette Wood Smith); his wife Mozelle Watson Smith; his son Jabez David Smith, Jr.; his grandchildren, Joshua Lee Smith (Brittany Ryan Smith) and Sophia Marie Smith; and his great grandchildren, Carly Anne Smith and Madelyn Jay Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, local and foreign mission funds or the Ouachita Cemetery fund.
