He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Atwell McDaniel and Hilda Lee Maxine Murry; and his brother Gary McDaniel. He is survived by: his son Robert DeForrest of Michigan; his stepchildren, Dave Ottinger of North Carolina, Donald Dennison of North Carolina and Tonya Dennison-Pease of North Carolina; and his siblings, Timothy McDaniel of Arkansas, Mark McDaniel of Alabama, Linda Walker and Tina Schaffer. He is also survived by five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his niece and care giver: Anita Tucker of Franklin; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
