She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Sauer and Ethel Sauer (Rutkowsky). She is survived by: her husband Col. Alfred C. Schiefer; her children, Col. Michael Schiefer, Col. Christopher Schiefer, Philip Schiefer, Teresa Overturff and Catherine Matt; and her sister Martha Mitchell. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends.
