Virgil Joseph Armstrong Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virgil Joseph Armstrong (Fort Smith, Arkansas), born in Riceville, Iowa, who passed away on November 19, 2021 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Casnor Armstrong and Inez Armstrong; and his siblings, Mary Joyce Wilson and Gaylord Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Alice Armstrong; his children, Coleen Armstrong (Gaylen Taylor) of Fort Smith, Bonnie Helmert (Bo) of Fort Smith and Chris Armstrong; his grandchildren, Michelle Rausch of Fort Smith, Kelly Green (Michael) of Fort Smith and Bo Helmert, Jr. of Fort Smith; and his great grandchildren, Kiersten of Fort Smith, Gavin of Fort Smith and Wyatt Green of Fort Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or School or Trinity Junior High.
