He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Akins and Virginia Akins (Queen). He is survived by: his wife Geneva Dunkin Akins; his children, Ronald Todd Akins (Mitzi), Lisa Gwen Akins (Mike) and Angela Dawn Miller (Bernie III); and his siblings, Joyce Lynn Smith (Doyle) and George Michael Akins (Celeste). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the King and Shearwood Funeral Home (808 E Main St, Stigler, OK 74462). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the R. E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel (808 E Main St, Stigler, OK 74462).
