He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ahlert and Rose Ahlert; and his siblings, Betty Hoover, Jerry Ahlert and Eugene Ahlert.

He is survived by: his wife Wilma Wewers; his children, Julie Ahlert, Kevin Ahlert and Jennifer Owens (Michael); his grandchildren, Everett Owens and Parker Owens; and his sisters, Rosemary Lelemsis and Virginia Georgie.
