He is survived by: his wife Melissa Cates; his mother Rita Gray; his stepfather Tom Gray; his siblings, Rob Cates (Kathy), Rodney Cates, Rhonda Voydat and Ronald Cates (Candy); his children, Paul Cates, Rebekah Travis (Jordan Travis) and Addie French (Terry English); and his grandchildren, Aubrey French, Ezra Travis, Everly Travis and Layla Travis.
