He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Jean Hunter (Phillips); his sons, Michael Shawn Hunter (Malina) of Muldrow, OK and Lance Phillips Hunter (Jennifer) of Muldrow, OK; his granddaughters, Brittney Hunter, Brooklyne Hunter and Lynnzie Hunter; his sister Donna Edwards (Danny) of Muldrow, OK; his nephew Gerry Stewart (Traci) of Muldrow, OK; his stepmother Alene Hunter of Muldrow, OK; and his parents, D. O. Hunter and Betty Hunter.
