He was predeceased by: his parents, Evangelina Guzman and Demetrio Guzman; his wife Blanca Damián Morales; and his siblings, Alma Armendáriz and Javier Guzman.

He is survived by: his children, Jose Antonio Guzmán Damián and Mirthala Guzmán Damián; and his grandchildren, Derían Guzmán, Fátima Salazar and Vanessa Salazar.
