It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Watie Mayo (Fort Smith, Arkansas), who passed away on October 3, 2019, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Wheeler and Florence Marie Mayo (Baker); and his brothers, Richard Wheeler Mayo Jr. and Dale Baker Mayo. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Ann [Boen]; his sons, John Robert Mayo (Jennifer) of Duvall, Wash and Jeffrey William Mayo (Beth) of Sallisaw; his sister Andrea Mayo Quigley (John) of Beaumont, Texas; his grandchildren, Gretchen Kate Mayo of Duvall, Jacob Wheeler Mayo of Duvall, Zachary John Mayo of Duvall, Harrison Walker Carmel Mayo of Duvall, Madolyn Rose Mayo and Maddox William Mayo of Sallisaw; and his brother-in-law Bob Boen (Kathie Hillier) of San Carlos, Calif.. He is also survived by five nieces and two nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made the Boy Scout Troop 731, c/o First United Methodist Church, PO Box 887, Sallisaw, OK 74955; First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 417, Sallisaw, OK 74955; or the Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation, 3601 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73105.
