He was predeceased by: his parents, Graden Thomas and Ida Thomas (Duncan); his stepmother Ina Maye Thomas; his siblings, Clara Moore (Bob) and Joe Thomas (Jan); his brothers-in-law, Neil Goodman, Fred Nielsen, Jim Johnson and Buford Bishop; and his mother-in-law Barbara Bishop.

He is survived by: his wife Dorcus Thomas (Bishop); his children, Bill Thomas (Peggy) and Sheri Brown (Darrell); his siblings, Harold Thomas (Raye), Shirley Goodman and Anna Johnson; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Nielsen and Billye Jean Thomas; and his grandchildren, Alison Thomas, Greg Thomas (Colleen Boyle), Derek and Seth Brown.
