It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Effie Minks (Fort Smith, Arkansas), born in Midland, Arkansas, who passed away on August 16, 2019, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Barnes and Mae Barnes; her husband Leonard Minks; her son Wayne Minks; and her siblings, Willie Barnes, Dude Barnes, Liza Lowery and Ethel Pickering.
She is survived by: her son David Minks (Becky) of Rock Island; her brother A. J. Barnes (Donna) of Pocola; her grandchildren, Brian Minks (Jackie) of Poteau, Cynthia Myers (Bradley) of Poteau, Teresa Eaton (James) of Pocola, Kevin Minks (Amanda) of Fort Smith, Steven Minks of Pocola, David Minks (Melinda) of Van Buren and Melissa Bennett (Rick) of Fate; her great grandchildren, Britt, Brandan, Jerrett, Bryson, Hunter, Parker, Maci, Seth, Samantha, James and Sara; and her great great grandchildren, Tatum, Tenley, Mila and Ava. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives.
