He was predeceased by: his son William Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Wilma Heinemeier; his children, Elliott O'Neil (Sylvia), Tina Armstrong, Amy Wilson (Jesse) and Jamie Boyster (James); and his sister Janice Mitchell. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
