He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Smola and Irene Smola (Szalicki); his wife Anna Faye Smola (Roberts); and his brother Dennis Smola. He is survived by: his daughter Lynn Joslin of Conneaut; his grandchildren, Ashlea Derkits (Jon), Steven Joslin (Stephanie) and Amber Joslin; his great grandchildren, Julian Joslin, Emma Joslin, Parker Derkits and Cole Walker; and his caregivers, Jim and Vicky Andoe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and more distant relatives, and very close friends.
