She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Buck Carlton and Vada Hicks Carlton; and her siblings, Virginia Carlton Hay, Mary Ellen Maupin and Guy Pierce "Bill" Carlton.
She is survived by: her sister Loretta Ann Lee of Dyersburg, Tennessee.; and her children, Dr. Byrl Carlton Criswell (Tamara), Betsy Carol Criswell Galvan (David), Benjamin Hays Criswell, Camry Berlyn Collins, Dr. Lauren Tamara Criswell, Maxwell Crews Renfro Criswell and Emilee Aaron. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
