Thelma Laverne (Bowman) Woods Obituary

Thelma Laverne Woods, 84 of Forrest City, Arkansas, passed away on June 6, 2021 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on December 4, 1936 in Newport, Arkansas to Floyd and Oma Bowman.

She lived a devoutly religious life and enjoyed reading her Bible, going to church, and being involved with church activities. She also enjoyed genealogy, gardening, going for walks, and being a caregiver to the elderly. She was very family oriented and enjoyed going to family reunions. Thelma always had a smile and kind word for everyone she met. She will be forever missed and always loved by many.

Thelma is predeceased by her parents, Floyd E. Bowman and Oma F. Nuckolls-Bowman; her husband Earl E. Woods; her son, Charles E. Woods; three brothers, Ardell, William, and Fred Bowman; and two sisters, Zelma B. Smith and Joyce Lewis-Franklin.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Kelley and Karen Woods; her grandson, Jeremy Summers; her great grandchildren, Kaitlann and Hailey Summers; her great-great granddaughter, Rylee Summers; and her nephew, Bernie Lewis; and her niece, Julie Lewis-Ingram.
