With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Jean Smith of Forrest City, Arkansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 13, 2025 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Knust and Goldie Nicholson Knust; and her husband Floyd Smith. She is survived by: her sons, Floyd Smith Jr. (Patricia) of Athens, Gene Smith (Cissy) of Forrest City, Jimbo Smith (Donna) of Lowell and George Hobson (Debra) of Hasty; and her sisters, Benita Kniss of Lake Village and Polly Barnes of Hot Springs. She is also survived by thirty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Stevens Funeral Home (220 N Washington St, Forrest City, AR 72335). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
