It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Marion Smith of Fordyce, Arkansas, who passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Elsie Oliver Smith and Walter Hughie Smith; and his sister Illa Drusilla Smith. He is survived by: his wife Vickey Smith (Raney) of Ivan; his children, Tonya Carlson (Tracy) of Ivan and Marion Smith (Tonya) of Fordyce; his grandchildren, Haley Smith (Luke) of Fordyce, Gunner Carlson (Jayda) of Kingsland, Julie Huntley (Dakota) of Kingsland, Briar Carlson of Ivan, Carlee Smith of Fordyce and Ryan Smith of Fordyce; his great grandchildren, Gideon Smith of Fordyce, Everly Carlson of Kingsland, Beau Carlson of Kingsland, Dixie Huntley of Kingsland, Faith Huntley of Kingsland and Drake Huntley of Kingsland; and his siblings, Ida Maddox of White Hall, Bertie "Fran" Wilkes (Hal) of Charlotte, David Smith (Barbara) of Fordyce, Cora Ruth Smith of Fordyce, Ruby Smith (Fordyce) and Charley Smith (Alice) of Strong. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
