He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Benton and Essie Ellen Birdwell (Berry); his wife Daisy Jones Birdwell; his son Curtis; and his stepson Lloyd Osborn.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Birdwell of Arkansas City, Kansas and Glenda Kennen of Weatherford, Texas; his stepdaughter Twyla Hudson of Flippin, Arkansas; and his sisters, Ruth Darring of Corpus Christi, Texas and Essie Ellen Loyess of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
