She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Smith and Wilma Yates; her stepfather John Yates; her brothers, Douglas Smith and Allen Smith; and her daughter-in-law Kathy England.
She is survived by: her brother Rufus "Junior" Smith; and her children, Jackie Hill (Tony), Tina Zimmer (Chris), Sherri Parham (James), Samantha Reed (Rick), Karen Black (James), Paul England and Wesley McMinn. She is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
