He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alvin J. Ryan and Anna B. Edmonds Ryan; his wife Mary Ella McKenzie Ryan; his daughter Kandice Edmonson Johnson (Steve Johnson); his grandchildren, Ryan Edmonson (Heather), Ky Edmonson (Kori), Jessica Johnson (Nick) of Fayetteville and Aaron Johnson of Portland, OR; and his great grandchildren, Easton Edmonson, Craigin Witt and Lyle Holbus.
