He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Ann and Ivan McKinley Mayes; and his siblings, Bill, Tom, Betty and Mary Jo.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita Maxine Epperson; and his grandchildren, Billy (Amanda Mayes), Leslie (James Bullard), Matt (Heather Mayes), Staci (Nathan Bodenstein), Ivan (Kayla Mayes), Iris (Erik Jakobs), Brad (Hope Mayes), Ashley Mayes, Jimmy (Dani Mayes), India Mayes and Sam (Kara Mayes). He is also survived by 14 Great Grandchildren, his 44 family members and his many friends.
