Patsy Laverne Nelson Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Patsy Laverne Nelson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, born in Booneville, Arkansas, who passed away on January 18, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Hedrick Smith and Sylvia Glass Smith; her husband Tal Nelson; her children, Katy Nelson-Ginder (Grant) of Fayetteville, Matt Nelson (Desiree) of Fayetteville and Sam Nelson of Saint Louis, Missouri; her sister Mary Hummer of Oklahoma City; and her grandchildren, Austin Zimmerman, Moxie Liles, Rees Nelson, Rebekah Nelson and Ruthie Nelson.

In June 2020, Laverne was diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS, but she remained undaunted both by this diagnosis, and by the pandemic, which disrupted all aspects of life.
