He is survived by: his wife Saundra Bates; his daughters, Geneva Ann Haven, Regina Reaves and Renee Bates; his stepchildren, Michael Fields and Shana Fields; and his siblings, Margaret Fancher, Mildred Peel, Carolyn Boone, Ronald Bates and Glenn Bates. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
