He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Don Smothers and Reverend Ruth Kuykendall Smothers. He is survived by: his daughter Tammy Mortensen; his wife Peggy Newlin Smothers; his children, Kirk Smothers (Jeanine), Connie Burns (Mike) and Cindy Griffith (Mark); his son-in-law Phil Mortensen; his sisters, Ava Walker and Joy Fulfer; and his grandchildren, Lindsey Pyatt (Nick), Melanie McDonald (Seth), Erin Neely (Cody), Lauren Hoerler (James), Matthew Smothers, Austin Griffith (Taylor), Mitchell Smothers (Lauren), Wade Burns, Taylor Griffith, Paige Wood (Hunter) and Carter Burns (Kristen).
