He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond "Doc" S. Pitts and Ethel L. Johnson Pitts; his brothers, Lester Pitts and Don Pitts; and his granddaughter Kiley Martens.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia E. Dorsey Pitts; his daughter Debbie Martens (Jerry); and his grandchildren, Devin Martens (Angel), Rebekah Stuart (Eric), Kirby Martens (Jennifer) and Amelia Foster (Scott). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
