He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Pettit, Sr. (Patsy Jean Harrison) and Mona Fitch Pettit; his siblings, Dwight Pettit and JoAnn Pettit Richards; his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Cannon and Charles Richards; and his grandson Preston Pettit Mullins.

He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Joe Pettit, Sr. (Sherri) of Scott, Patricia Ann Pettit Mullins (Johnny) of England, Leonard Earl Pettit (Tanya) of England, Deborah Kay Pettit Surrett (Craig) of England and Douglas Wayne Pettit (Rhonda) of Fordyce; his grandchildren, Joey Pettit (Sissy) of Jonesboro, Micah Mullins Nichols (Zack) of England, Brittney Pettit Robinson (Bradley) of England, Ryan Surrett (Ashley) of England, Peyton Mullins (Hilary) of England, Clayton Pettit of England, Raeann Surrett of Conway, Matthew Pettit of Shreveport, LA and Hannah Pettit of Fordyce; his great grandchildren, Caleb Hillis of England, Carleigh Robinson of England, Raylee of England, Anderson Nichols of England, Bentley of England, Briley Surrett of England, Tyson Pettit of England, Kayden, Landon, Asher Pettit of Jonesboro and Emmalyn Pettit of Fordyce; and his siblings, Jerry Pettit (Kathy) of Coy, Billy Pettit (Chelo) and Sheila Cannon of Pine Bluff. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and friends.
