He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Carter and Zelma Carter; and his brothers, Billy Wayne Carter, John Henry Carter and Dennis Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Mary Carter; his children, Harold Carter Jr. (Elizabeth), Michael Carter (Cassie), Austin Turner, Michelle Gibson (Petey), Sandra Turner, Charissa Lemons, Melodie Shipley (Dan) and Eric Lambert; and his siblings, Eddie Lee Carter, Mose Carter, Barbara Brittain and Ruth Morgan. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; as well as host of extended family and friends.
