He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira "Jack" and Linnie Lee Deeds; his former wife Barbara Ann Deeds; and his grandson T. J. Halpain. He is survived by: his wife Diane Meherg; his children, Sherman Kelly Deeds Jr. (Leslia), Sheila Halpain, Janet Myrick and Linnie Deeds; and his grandchildren, Chris Halpain, Jessica Halpain, Dylan Myrick, Amanda Wilbanks, Jason Wilbanks, Tracy Blake, Tyler Blake, Colton Deeds and Kaylly Deeds. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
