Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Alvie and Anna Bess Cross Freeman; and her sister Emma Jean Powell. She is survived by: her husband Harold McCarty; and her brothers, Bill, Jack and Tommy Freeman. She is also survived by her nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Griffin Funeral Home Chapel (109 Brasfield St, Dumas, AR 71639). A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Dark Corner Cemetery.
