He was predeceased by: his parents, O. L. Puryear and Lois Mauney Puryear; his wife Doris Crews Puryear; his siblings, William, Lynn Puryear and Julia Carrell; and his daughter-in-law Debbie Puryear.
He is survived by: his children, Lynne Seago (Carl) of Dallas, Ladd Puryear of Dumas and Stephen Puryear (Michelle) of Decatur, Alabama.; his grandchildren, Crews Puryear (Kara), Katie Hill (Daniel), Calvin Puryear (Kathleen), Allison Davenport (Drew), Caroline Landon (Byron), Julia Seago, Patrick Newsom and Callie Puryear; his great grandchildren, Parker Hill, Eli Hill, Collyn Puryear, Knox Puryear, Hudson Puryear, Annsley Puryear, Jack Davenport, Charlie Davenport, Eden Davenport, Dylan Landon and Addison Landon; and his close friend Sugar.
