He was predeceased by: his parents, David Mitchell, and Eloise Mason Mitchell, Sr.; his son Michael Mitchell; and his siblings, Hurley Joe Mitchell and Frances Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Alma Mitchell of Dumas, Arkansas; his children, Brian Mitchell (Shameka) of Dallas, Texas and NaPorsha Giles (Archie) of Dallas, Texas; and his siblings, Jimmy Ray Mitchell of Mitchellville, David Mitchell Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Cordell Mitchell of Columbus, Linda Mitchell of Grady and Karen Mitchell of Mitchellville, Arkansas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
