He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Hixon and Edriss Hixon; his wife Grace Marie Hixon; his brothers, John Howard Hixon and Jimmy Hixon; his son Joel Hixon; and his grandson Sgt. Eric Strothers.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Wayne Hixon (Marianne) and Waynetta Hixon Lloyd (Gary). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as other family and friends.
