He was predeceased by: his parents, William Buchanan and Frances Buchanan; his wife Ethel Buchanan; his son James Robert Buchanan; and his siblings, Billy, Archie, Bobby Lynn Buchanan and Mary Frances Black.
He is survived by: his brother James "Buck" C. Buchanan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
