He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Merle and Juanita McGraw O'Dell Smith; and his brother Jimmy O'Dell. He is survived by: his wife Carla T. Alter O'Dell; his children, John Paul O'Dell (Katy) of Little Rock, Christi Jo O'Dell Obenshain (Chris) of Bentonville, Hunter Alter Norris (Robert) of Austin and Amanda Alter Martin (Avery) of Austin; his grandchildren, Kirby, George O'Dell, Clara, Camryn Obenshain, Gage, Whit, Roxana Norris, Mara and Mae Martin; his siblings, Tommy O'Dell (Sandy) of Avoca, Mark O'Dell (Bobbie) of Gillett and Sarah O'Dell Fuhrman; and his brothers-in-law, Benny Thigpen (Debbie) of DeWitt and Harlan Butler of Pensacola Beach, Florida.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
