He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Patterson and Marie Jones Patterson; his sister Sherry Criswell; and his wife Glenda Patterson. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Ward (Greg) of DeWitt and Scott Patterson (Melissa) of DeWitt; his grandchildren, Korry Jones (Tyler), Emily Patterson, Hunter Hill, Eli Patterson, Savannah Patterson, Noah Ward (Emily), Adam Hill and Kara Ward; his great grandchild Evy Claire Jones; his brothers, Dan Patterson (Ruth) of DeWitt and Mike Paterson (Linda) of Scott; and his brother-in-law Robert Criswell of DeWitt. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or the donor's choice.
