He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Simpson and Ruth Pittman Simpson; his spouse Colene Landon Simpson; and his siblings, William Simpson, Garland Simpson, Bobby Joe Simpson and Mary Kathryn Ruffin.
He is survived by: his son Roy Don (Crystal Simpson); and his sister Marjorie Kraft. He is also survived by nieces and nephews along with great and great great nieces and nephews.
