He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Smith and Maurine Hudson Smith; his wife Janis Pittman Smith; and his son Alan Lee Smith. He is survived by: his siblings, Wilburn "Sonny" Smith (Barbara), Calvin Smith (Linda), Johnny Mack Smith, Carolyn Moore and Alice May William Mayville (Buddy); and his sister-in-law Betty Pittman Hargrove (Dan). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
