He was predeceased by: his parents, Pat Thompson and Lula May Thompson; his stepmother Berty Thompson; his wife Patsy Ruth Thompson; his daughter Tammy Ruth Thompson-Blackstock; his brother George Thompson; his stepbrothers, David Stewart and Donald Stewart (Don); and his grandson Raymond Thompson.
He is survived by: his sons, Jesse Arnold, James Thompson of Sparkman, AR. and Richard (Little Ricky); and his siblings, Dorothy Mayville (Earnest), Margaret Wright, Judy Clark and Leroy Thompson. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
