He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Bowman and Minnie Bell Ezell Bowman; his daughter Barbara Jean Bowman; and his sisters, Mary Sue Bowman and Hazel Bowman.

He is survived by: his wife Dessie Bowman; his children, Wayne Bowman of Dermott, AR and Peggy Averett (Ron) of Hornersville, MO; and his sister Helen Case of Lake Village, AR. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
