He is survived by: his sister Elizabeth Bates; his children, Dusty Bates and Shoshawnna Bates; his siblings, Howard Bates (Bonnie), Ray Bates, Edwin Bates and Linda Mae Knight (Jason); and his grandchildren, Serenity, Jane, William and Matilda.
