He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Alexander and Verval Taylor Alexander. He is survived by: his wife Linda Alexander; his children, Roger Alexander Jr. (Lori) and Laura Brady (Shane); his sisters, Ruthie McElroy, Lillian Small (WC) and Martha Horn (Charlie); his grandchildren, Victoria Laurent, Caden Green, Emily Alexander, Olivia Alexander and Madison Alexander; and his great grandchildren, Lillian Laurent and Samuel Laurent.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
