He is survived by: his granddaughter Hannah Mendez; his children, Stacie Lynn Simmons and James Jared Simmons; his granddaughter Hannah Grace Mendez; his brother Jerry Simmons; his sister-in-law Tonya Simmons; his sister Susie Hopson; his brother-in-law Keith Hopson; and his sister Janet Simmons. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
