He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard John Murphy, Sr. and Margret Ann Hassett Murphy; his wife Helen Murphy; his brothers, David Murphy and Leo Murphy; his son Bernard J. Murphy, III; and his grandsons, Kyle Swain, Chris Yawn and Travis Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Swain (Keith), Gary T. Murphy, Sr. (Marilyn), Larry Murphy and Laurie Herson (Jim); his daughter-in-law Connie Murphy; and his siblings, Mary Bigger (Gary), Maggie Murphy, Alan Murphy and Chris Murphy (Laura). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and a number of great-great-grandchildren.
