He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Hansford and Lena Louise Crownover Smith; his wife Sherrilyn Kay Slater Smith; his sons, William D. Smith and Darrell Ray Smith; and his siblings, Dudley Smith and Fredonia Dowden.
He is survived by: his children, Russell and Evelyn Yandell of De Queen; his grandchildren, James, Krystal Yandell of De Queen, Amanda Terrell of De Queen, Jeremy D. Smith of McCloud and Danica Smith of Shawnee, Oklahoma.; his great grandchildren, Landon, Tylynn, McKinley, McKayla Yandell and Payton Terrell; his nephew Rick Dowden of Leesville, Louisiana; his niece Mischelle Serr of San Antonio, Texas; and his close friend Terri Cranford.
