She was predeceased by: her parents, Bland Mitchell and Mable Aaron Mitchell; her siblings, Floyd Thomas and Pam Mitchell; her brother-in-law Raymond Gilkey; and her in-laws, Hazel and Joeretta Gilkey.

She is survived by: her nephew Brandon Johnson; her spouse Derwin K. Gilkey; and her siblings-in-law, Natalie Johnson (James) of Lubbock and William Gilkey (Gail) of Conyers. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
